I’m of the age where all my friends are getting married. My inbox has been flooded with generic “Save the Dates” for the past 12 months.

Then I got engaged. Here’s me trying to get down on one knee...on skis.

As we kicked off our wedding admin, mass produced wedding websites gave me the ick.

They all look like 90’s Powerpoint templates...using the same cursive script, predictably accompanied by a Times New Roman spinoff and some floral decorations.

If this bothers you as well, read on. Otherwise, save yourself 30 seconds and turn back now.

I figured our guests would be hearing from us for the next 12 months, so I wanted to hype them up from day 1.

I’m quite good at doing this. I’ve worked in growth roles at tech companies for the last decade. I know design. I know how to write (I mean...you’ve read this far down right?) And I know human psychology.

On top of this, I’m also a photographer and painter.

This isn’t a brag. I’m just saying...I’m uniquely equipped to build killer websites.

So that’s what I did for our wedding.

There were moments where I doubted whether it was worth it.

But within minutes of sending out the first email, I knew the effort was worth it.

Even the lads liked it.

Not only did out guests like it, but it helped us shape the vibe for the entire wedding.

After the success of our own website, I bought the domain nothingborrowed.com and launched this website.

If you’re reading this, it must be going pretty well.

I only make a handful of websites each year. So before we go any further, let’s make sure we’re on the same page.
